DOGS REQUIRING GOOD HOMES

From time to time, we take in Siberian Huskies in need of a new home.

The reasons why dogs are surrendered to us are varied, but each case

sees a needy dog looking for a new home.
In 2002 we placed Phena, Otis, Troppo,  Casper,  Faith  and Rhea,

Tayla and Kira.

So far in 2003 we have placed Ski, Shadow, Malli, Rosie, Thomas,

Kusco, Kimba,  Jolie and Panda.

SKYLA    -   needs a  new  home

Skyla is a desexed 6 yr old piebald grey and white female Siberian Husky with pale blue eyes, micro chipped, healthy and fully vaccinated. She has a kind and friendly nature and would be best suited to an experienced (eg: not a beginner in the world of dogs), non aggressive male owner as she is quite dominant.

She loves company and loves being included on outings and on trips in the car,

and would suit someone who either doesn't work or is at home a lot with their work. She does well with other dogs but would be best suited to being the only dog as she loves being the centre of attention. Skyla is tolerant of children 6 yrs and up but is best suited to a home without them as she can get a bit overwhelmed at times.

She would also make a wonderful racing dog as she loves to run, I have given her basic obedience training myself but she would benefit greatly from doing it weekly at a local dog club as she is extremely intelligent and has a lot to give.

Gypsy   -  still available

Gypsy  was born in October 2000 and is a lovely black female Husky with blue eyes and a friendly, happy nature.  She is desexed, healthy and up to date with vaccinations.

She responds well to basic obedience commands and is easy to walk and manage as she is a small Husky.

Gypsy was surrendered by her family because she escaped and killed a neighbour's cat.  If you have a well fenced yard and a commitment to taking Gypsy to obedience training, she will reward you with years of companionship and joy.  She is used to small children and loves their company.

If you would like to meet Gypsy, please phone or e mail us here  -  Ph 6236 6404    siberians@ozemail.com

Betty   -- still available

Betty is a young and friendly red female Husky with blue eyes and a thick longer coat.

Aged about 9 months, she was found wandering the streets of Lithgow and

was released to the Siberian Husky Club of NSW for re-homing.  She came into season on 28 June, so desexing is a "must" for her new owners.  Betty jumps fences in her need to be with people  -  she must be allowed to spend time indoors with the family.  Not recommended for a home with children under the age of (about) 6 as she is boisterous and very enthusiastic in her attempts to sit in a lap.

You must be committed to taking Betty to at least 12 months of dog obedience training classes, and Betty must never be allowed loose without a collar and leash as she will run  -    out of sheer exuberence.

Keeta   -    Still available   ( 6 August)

This delightful black female Husky is estimated to be 7 or 8 months old.  She was rescued from a home where she was chained outside.  When released, she ran away and it was 2 days before she came home.  Keeta came here on 18 July and although healthy she is very thin, will need extra meals each morning, and is very anxious to be close to people who befriend her.  Sitting in a lap is Keeta's ultimate aim right now, though when she settles with a new family, Keeta will become more secure and confident.

Keeta must be desexed (we expect her to come in season any time now),

and you need a commitment to taking her to weekly dog obedience training classes for at least 12 months.

Keeta is small for a female Husky, and has a shorter coat.

Tasha   -   needs  a  new  home  ( 4 August)

Tasha was found wandering around Sydney and was released to us by the Sydney Lost Dogs Home

when no owner could be found.

She is a young red female with blue eyes and a short but thick coat, possibly only 6 or 7 months old.

Her neck fur has been worn down, suggesting that she had a too tight collar at some time.

Tasha needs a commitment to dog obedience training classes for at least 12 months,

and must be desexed as we have no knowledge of her background, pedigree or genetic health.
